The National mWellness Day, which will take place on August 28-29, 2021, will be the Philippines’ first nationwide medical mission.

mWell, the country’s first fully integrated health and wellness mobile app is yet another bold step toward providing healthcare access to millions of Filipinos, especially in light of the country’s tightened limitations as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak caused by the Delta strain.

According to studies from the UP-Philippine Genome Center, the Delta variant has surpassed other variants of concern in the country. With approximately 2 million COVID-19 infections in the Philippines to far, stronger quarantine measures are in place to prevent the extremely contagious variety from spreading further.

For the first time ever, patients from all over the Philippines, including Luzon’s outlying regions of Ilocos, Cordillera Administrative Region, or Cagayan Valley, as well as far-flung and difficult-to-reach islands in the Visayas, and Mindanao’s southernmost Soccsksargen, will be able to receive quality free doctor consultation. With this latest innovation, Metro Pacific Health Tech’s mWell provides users with an enhanced sense of security and medical assistance.

All mWell app users and patients can take use of free online and teleconsultations from a list of primary care and specialty specialists across the country during this online event. For this special event, all booking and doctor fees are waived.

National mWellness Day is a simple and accessible way for Filipinos to gain much-needed access to health professionals from the safety and comfort of their own homes.

Dr. Angela Fernando-Villasenor, a pediatrician, participates in National mWellness Day as a volunteer “to assist our fellow Filipinos.” “I’ll also be assisting my coworkers in a little way because at least one patient will be kept out of the hospital. I’d like to invite my colleagues to join me in providing free consultations via the mWell PH app on August 28-29.

Doctors and clinics from across the country are invited to participate in the National mWellness Day to reach out to more patients and give them accessible, responsive, and convenient medical care long after the pandemic has passed.

Kara David, a healthcare advocate and the founder of Project Malasakit, will moderate an FB Live discussion about National mWellness Day on the mWell Facebook page on August 28 at 5 p.m. She’ll be discussing how mWell brings healthcare closer to Filipinos through volunteer doctors, patients, and special guests.

Professional consultations, medical diagnosis, care and treatment plans, as well as individualized exercise, nutrition, and wellness programs, and even smart parenting solutions from prenatal to family health management, are all available through mWell. e-pharmacy services by South Star Drug, as well as over 3,000 health and wellness product SKUs ranging from meal delivery to skin and body care, are also available through the mWell app’s online health shop. In-app transactions and payments are fast, safe, and hassle-free thanks to mWell’s relationship with PayMaya.
