Through their newly redesigned official website, KCC Malls unveiled their plans for an even bigger expansion in 2012!
Soon to dominate the skyline of General Santos City is their VERANZA MALL, envisioned to be the Tuna Capital’s first GREEN SHOPPING MALL!
Check out the Veranza Mall perspectives below. The new mall which sounds like “Abreeza” will occupy the old Marfin Tan property across the KCC Mall of Gensan now being used as car park. It extends up to KCC’s lot behind the car park’s perimeter fence.
Here is the Veranza Mall Top View…
Now take a look at another picture of the Veranza Mall perspective..
From the looks of it, Veranza Mall will be full of greens – plants, trees and perhaps fountains, waterfalls and other water elements to live up to the owners’ plans of making it distinctively South Central Mindanao’s first-ever GREEN MALL. It will connect the existing KCC Mall of GenSan to the new structures via a skybridge. According to the KCC website, Veranza will open in November 2012.
And yes, Veranza Mall will also operate a first-class hotel (check out the first picture’s two tall buildings) to augment its existing Convention Center, aside from an al fresco dining strip and world class restaurants . Very much similar to Robinsons Place GenSan’s plan to also open a hotel beside it.
That leaves the soon-to-open SM City General Santos and expanding Gaisano Mall of GenSan without a hotel to call their own. But does GenSan really need and sustain all these in the long run?
One thing for sure though, this grand battle of the supermalls in GenSan will only redound to the benefit of the generals and to the city’s new reputation as South Central Mindanao’s SHOPPING MECCA.
Stay tuned for more updates!

Looks fantastic……
…anu yan magic.. less than a year may tutubo nang mall and hotel sa harap ng kcc.. be realistic nman sa time frame… para maniwala kami… WOW GENSAN n talaga pag ma2loi… I’m xcited!
@Kibra, Tomoh!… 😀
According to another blog site the project of Veranza is mall only and it thus not included the hotel how true was it?
That depends how the Travel Agent play in Gensan. There is opportunity to play like destination Travel Agency and that would happen soon all New Mall and expanding existing Mall are fully in operation. Meanwhile those to put down Gensan I respect your opinion but be positive.
Next question – How about Kimball what happen to the interest of owner sir Avel?
@Jerwin_Atalntis I agree with you, however this only happens during huge conventions, Base on statistics, there are accommodation establishment that are affected by the increasing no. of industry players. Also, statistics taken last February 2011, most guests coming to gensan are for business reasons and not travel for leisure. The good thing is that we are benefiting from the increasing no. of tourists visiting our region specially So. Cot. and Sarangani, while make Gensan their place to shop, dine, and stay. What we need is to develop more tourist destinations which will complement that of So. Cot and Sarangani, not to compete with them.
@Mark I don’t think that the waste water/sewage treatment facility near public market will cater the sewage/drainage system build by SM. I believed SM has it own sewage treatment within its area and water going to the drainage already underwent treatment. The waste water treatment facility at P. Acharon is for the public market only. This is to small to cater such huge sewerage system where other business establishment along Santiago Blvd will/may use.
@JR, sino pala ang nag a-under estimate sa GenSan? Isa ka ba mga yon? hahaha
Regarding flights, kulang pa nga yan eh. Ang PR kailan kaya mag dagdag ng isa pang flight to MNL sa hapon or gabi? Kahit A320 na lang gamitin nila sa second flight…Ang GES-CEB-GES I know nag-iisa lang yan by cebu pacific and I know kulang nakulang pa yan.
Hindi pa naibabalik ang GES-ILO-GES flight. Plus, there is also the demand for GES-ZAM-GES and GES-CGY-GES. Nakakapagod mag by-land at magbarko ha?…
People should stop riding Habal Habal and its not safe at all. I believed Government had closed the franchise of Tricycle and look into alternative decent transportation. In downtown to Lagao It could ease the traffic by removing Tricycle and Habal Habal instead PUJ and Jeep. Also a strong discipline to strictly follow the Traffic Light and place camera in order to see who violates the rules. I know its ambitious project but our city is still growing. By the way sir Avel what about City Hall are the government has a plan to renovate the building especially its face outside?
Kayang kaya yun for 5 years project. Very Potential talaga sya.
@Toinks: yes and yes.. lahat po ng sbe mo ay agree ako.:) anyways, today I think we will no longer bothered with the flood problems jan sa may lagao – bula road down to brgy bula (back of kcc) ksi ongoing po construction and hopefully they will finish it soon, the construction of 6 feet below tunnel-type drainage system (like the one SM has started) at J. Divinagracia St., Bula, just a straight forward of bula-lagao road and dretso na sa dagat… ibig sbihin, all drainage lines from lagao down to bula will be connected right away… This kind of drainage system was also implemented jan sa may palengke area where nkalocate ang ating water waste treatment fascility then it was connected in SM’s drainage system from santiago boulevard..:) now with this kind of development in our major drainage systems im sure that sooner or later Gensan will be a flood free zone.:)
i guess its about time na wag na natin i-under-estimatate ang GenSan… sure ako may market ang veranza… Gaya nalang sa flights natin, before october 2006 one flight per day lang tyo ngayon may 5 flights na tyo per day – 1 for Cebu and 4 for Manila….
by November 30, may six (6) daily flights na ang GenSan Airport –
1 daily flight to Cebu via Cebu Pacific (5J 250)
5 daily flights to Manila – 1 via PAL (PR 454), 1 via AirPhil (2P 990) and 3 via Cebu Pacific (5J 992, 5J 994, 5J 996)
Our drainage system (bigger, long term such as in SM), transport system and Airport rehabilitation is a major projects that our local government should look into.
@toinks. Point by point talaga ha. Parang sa “Square Off” ng ANC. Anyway, it only shows how vibrant the people of GenSan is. Sana lahat ng mga suggestions natin, our local gov’t would take it into considerations. No doubt our city is becoming a metropolis in the years to come and we should be ready to it.
Despite of becoming a highly urbanized city, ma maintain pa rin sana ang pagiging “low standard of living” in terms of cost such as foods, housing, transportations & facilities, etc.
I address my answer to question who will stay in that hotel. Gensan is a popular city and people outside are looking forward to see What is in Gensan. Year 2011 our city host a large convention that we experience challenges of lack of accommodation. This is now the answer that we are ready for any larger conventions. In my mind is set already once I get opportunity to get partner or investor to start destination travel agency to play in Gensan and Socsksargen area then you will see lot of foreign tourist going around especially festivals and a lot more.
Another concern in our airport development at least we beg for Airport building and fully air condition and separate floor for departure and arrival with aerobridge.
For Freedom Park – I hope they will develop grand stand like Pedron Acharon Sports Complex so that when we have festival show a full view and scenery of dance will be more excitement and see the colors and etc.
@edgar the Veranza hotel is along Bula-Lagao road. The Condominiums are situated along J. Catolico Ave.
@vyperalta, True! that area of Bula-Lagao road has poor drainage system. Grabe kaya ang baha dyan kapag super lakas ang ulan…perhaps KCC and Robinsons Malls could cooperate and partner with the city govt. to help fix the drainage system on that road. GenSan transport system is really backwards as of this time. The city govt should have the political will to regulate these trikes from plying within the four barangays of Dadiangas namely North, East, West and South. And also, the city should give incentives (if possible) to those businessmen who want to put up a TAXI service or a Multicab PUJ. How I wish the city will now STOP issuing trike franchises. Sikad will only be limited to barangay roads and streets except the aforementioned 4 brgys.
@rhomer, matagal na dapat nangyari yan. remember that our international airport plays a very very vital role in our city’s economy. hindi talaga pwedeng pabayaan natin ito. davao is not our gateway, we have an airport of our own therefore we should USE IT. I wish to have more flights and destinations to our city beginning 2012. How true is the news I heard that there is a new CAAP officer-in-charge for gensan airport? No longer Mr. Nathaniel Nazareno?
@blue, alam mo naman na salat na salat ang ciudad sa hotel rooms diba? perennial problem kaya natin ito in tha past 10 years. therefore there goes the answer to your question na who will stay at the hotel. good suggestions of yours though.
new mall development is good for the city ,it will helps unemloyed people ;but,Iam wondering the new hotel where it be built? It is to Catolicoave. or the Lagao,Bula rd?
it was like in SM NORTH EDSA .. sky garden, bridge to their annex bldg and window views hahaha.
very nice development in gensan….and nice perspective….however listing some observations:
1. the structure is huge and opening it in November 2012 is suspect…..case in point SM Gensan according to grapevine buzz the opening is move to summer of 2012 instead of February 2012….
2. the location of the two tall buildings (the hotel?) in the perspective stands on the existing residence of the KCC owners…..are they gonna demolished it for the hotel?….just asking…..
3.there’s a saying there should be a truth in advertising…..no matter how we interpret perpsective we should be truthful in advertising it…….the background at the back of the existing KCC as shown in the perspective shows a beautiful green land area with wide road network…..alam natin hindi ito totoo…….
just an observations lang po……..development is good for gensan…..but we need also to plan and implement good transport/traffic and drainage system……..
with all the developments here in Gensan .. i think its high time that our international (?) airport will be upgraded .. i mean bigger airport terminal and modern facilities (maybe at par with davao airport the least) .. Gensan lives up to its name as the Boomtown Gensan !
@Toinks it’s not unique…nakakatawa lang sya. :))
“green” mall daw, they should first address the noise pollution that they the mall producing…saba kaayo dha sa likod.
who would be the tenants of that mall? may feasibility study ba ito? is this a well-planned response to SM? much more sa hotel nila kinsa pud ang matulog dha. GOOD LUCK.
Sayang nasaan ang modernization budget.
Ang puso mo @toinks. Relax, its their job & problem to solve, hehe. bitaw we wish our airport will truly become a relaxing airport soon.
Ganda talaga ng proposed dev. ng KCC, one of its kind, baka first mall ito sa pinas na may giant water falls, correct me if i’m wrong..
@blue hahahahah veranda
VERANda + abreeZA = VERANZA?
saw the plan at the arrival area at the airport when i went home last weekend… it seems that kcc is upping the ante, and will prove to be a contender for the “best mall in gensan”… with this development, people will be given employment opportunities, and hopefully bring in investors… now, when everything is in place (gaisano, kcc, robonson’s, sm), the “mall wars” in lagao WILL begin… 🙂
Naka post pala ito sa arrival area sa Airport – That makes attracting investor and ma pa wow sila sa development of the city.
@harlem: yes that’s true.:) kahit aapat lng pro makaproud nmn as a Generals..:) and that’s right marami pang kaabang-abang na developments ang mnyayari sa ating beloved Magandang Gensan! hehe.:)
Ayos to ah.
More investment in Gensan….. employment rate increases!
WOW!!! kahit aapat malls natin, kagaganda naman!
galing galing. amazing yung may waterfalls talaga.. haha. can’t wait. i want to see it in Jan 2012! joke lang. pero marami na akong inaabangan sa GENSAN ngayon. umaasenso.
thanks dito sir.
For sure marami ng magsulputan na four to five star hotel na papasok especially operated by international chain.
Mas greeny pa ren SM soon to open na…hahahaha!
@toinks, tinuod man cguro kay naapil man gud siya sa tarp sa Veranza ddto sa KCC.
kccc new site is down? can’t see eat. but i heard its great. ano ba.. gusto kong makita.. 😀
wow!!!! na-amaze talaga ako for d first tym ko ito nkita early ds morning..:) it is really indeed an awesome development to KCC Mall of GEnsan and also to our beloved Magandang Gensan.. tuloy-tuloy na tlaga to mga fellow Generals and we truly say that indeed General Santos City is “Magandang Gensan”! Congratulations KCC Mall Mgt and kudos to everyone involved in this world class! (^_^)
WOW! We haven’t yet get over with SM hype, here comes another mega project. Cannot wait seeing this Veranza Mall to open soon. Do Robinsons and Gaisano have another plans to expand?
The FIRST GREEN MALL in South Central Mindanao?!?
Well, Karapat – dapat tong ICLAP! CLAP!
wow!
YEAH!. so excited!
i cannot wait! hehe. i see progress everywhere, love it! =)
I cannot believed this and I want to read and read and I challenge myself it will happen. But how come the construction would take place for a year very fast development. Happy to know at least we have another star hotel to play in our beloved city. Pacquiao in an interview he has hotel 42 rooms where is that located? I will push through to have Travel Agency to play in Socsargen area. Soon will happen i have now on my mind but still need partner wapakkkkkkkkkk ambitious dream. Congratulation Gensan.
