Bariles Republic is pleased to announce that finally, after so much delay, the Tahanan ni Maria Photo Exhibit has been scheduled to open on May 1st, 2009 at the Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage Parish grounds, along Roxas Avenue, General Santos City.
This piece of good news was relayed to Bariles by Fr. Manny Gellez, CP, Vice Rector of the OLPGV Parish.
The photos to be featured in the exhibit are the top 30+3 entries to the same-themed “Tahanan ni Maria Photo Contest” which ran early this year in coordination with GenSan Camera Club. They will also be part of the 50th Anniversary Commemorative Book of OLPGV Parish, the cover of which will be unveiled on May 1st too.
From among these same photos, the readers of Bariles Republic chose their winner in the Bariles Republic Top Reader’s Choice Award, a photo by amateur photographer Dino Kintanar named “God is Watching”.
And speaking of that contest, Bariles is proud to give to you the winners of the Best 5 Photos among the lot. The photographer of each of these photos will receive P5,000 and a token from the OLPGV Parish. The non-winners will receive a token each.
These will be awarded during the Opening Program of the “Tahanan ni Maria Photo Exhibit” on May 1st at 8:30am.
So here in no particular order are the “Tahanan ni Maria Photo Contest” Winners:
To all the winners of the Tahanan ni Maria Photo Exhibit, Bariles Republic congratulates you and thanks you in behalf of the Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage Parish. See you at the Opening of the Photo Exhibit on May 1, 2009 at the OLPGV Parish Grounds.

@– can anybody explain the white light which hugged the cross in the bottle of wine??scientific manner pls..only unless it is an apparition on one of the blessed trinity??it will remain a mystery..
*********
Hi Ciloy, it’s not an apparition or anything mysterious. It’s the light emitted from the remote strobe(flash)used by the photographer when he took the shot. He placed the remote flash(wireless flash unit), supposedly hidden behind the wine container. Kaya lang medyo malakas yong flash unit kaya nakita yong light. Siguro gusto ng photographer na magkaroon ng “rimlight” ang wine container. Rimlighting is a creative lighting technique used by photographers to emphasize or enhance the surface of the subject placed in a dark background. Kung hindi to ginamitan ng rimlight technique (I’m referring to the photo entitled “Bread & Wine) ng photographer, the wine bottle might not be visible or kung visble man, flat sya tingnan.
I hope you are enlightened by my brief explanation. “Walang Himala” !
Godbless!
