Dole Philippines, Inc. continues to demonstrate its commitment to sustainability and community development with the Inauguration of the region’s first Bamboo Treatment Facility at Purok 5 Dam, Brgy. Landan, Polomolok, South Cotabato, September 6, 2024.

         This facility is a significant component of the Sustainable Eco-tourism and Environment-based Innovations Demo (SEED) Farm Project, which aims to promote sustainable eco-tourism and provide environmental education. Dole Philippines, Inc., as the funding donor of the project, with the collaborative effort of Mahintana Foundation Inc., the Local Government Unit of Polomolok, Base Bahay Foundation, Inc., and with the support of DOST XII, reflecting a shared vision for ecological preservation and economic progress. 

           The Bamboo Treatment Facility will play a crucial role in the SEED Farm Project by ensuring the durability and longevity of bamboo as a building material, which is vital for the construction of affordable housing and community structures. This initiative not only supports the local bamboo industry, but also provides a model for sustainable living practices. The SEED Farm Project encompasses various programs, including workshops on sustainable farming, livelihood programs, and the development of a model house design that can be easily replicated by the local communities. 

           Dole Philippines’ involvement in this project is part of a broader strategy to integrate corporate responsibility with environmental stewardship. By focusing on innovative and responsible practices, Dole aims to create a positive impact that extends beyond immediate business interests, fostering a sustainable future for the environment and the communities it serves.
