Ric Atendido and Hon. Shandee Llido-Pestaño. Also present during the event were BLC COO Dr. Ricky Aranzamendez III, BLC General Manager Mr. Karlo Serafin Sanchez, and BLC Davao Medical Director Dr. Gary Bunagan.

BLC currently has 4 branches– 3 full-service clinics located in Manila, Iloilo, and Davao respectively, and now a newly-opened satellite clinic in General Santos.

“We have multiple accessible locations in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, extending our mission to provide life-changing vision for all to all corners of the country. Citizens from General Santos, including other nearby towns, now have access to the latest technology one could offer abroad. They don’t need to fly to Manila or other countries just to enjoy the newest eye treatments. BLC has conveniently brough the technology right in their backyard.” remarked by Mr. Karlo Serafin Sanchez, BLC General Manager.

“Our satellite clinic in Gensan will accommodate patients who are planning to undergo surgery by conducting free suitability tests, and comprehensive eye screenings. If their assessment results show that they are eligible for LASIK, our patients can conveniently travel to our Davao clinic, just a few hours away, for their procedure, which typically lasts 15-20 minutes. They can travel back to Gensan afterwards and have their follow-up check-ups in our satellite clinic.” BLC Davao Medical Director, Dr. Gary Bunagan stated.

The management also announced that BLC will soon open their clinics in Cagayan de Oro and Bacolod.

“At BLC, we take pride in our commitment to excellence by investing in world-class technology and equipment, so we can provide customized treatments ensuring the best results for every patient.” BLC CEO and Head Ophthalmologist Dr. Ches Heredia said. “As of December 2023, BLC has helped over 20,000 eyes achieve life-changing vision. Of course, this would not be possible without the expertise of our globally-trained and highly-experienced doctors.” he added.

BLC also boasts its top-of-the-line machines that perform the best ophthalmic treatments. One of them is the Schwind Amaris Excimer Laser, a high-performance laser system used in refractive surgery to reshape the cornea and correct vision problems such as myopia (nearsightedness), hyperopia (farsightedness), and astigmatism.

Additionally, as part of its commitment of providing innovative solutions to eye surgery, BLC has recently been certified to be the FIRST and ONLY eye clinic in the Philippines to offer CLEAR Lenticule Extraction– the same technology used in Europe, Americas and different parts of the world. This procedure is performed using a machine called the Ziemer Z8 NEO which BLC launched in March 2023.

Eye Laser Surgery is done to correct the vision of people who are farsighted, nearsighted and have astigmatism. Thus, this serves as an alternative to wearing eyeglasses or contact lenses.

This procedure is recommended for people between 18 to mid-40 years old; have a stable vision prescription for at least a year; have healthy eyes with no active eye diseases, infections, or injuries; do not have certain eye conditions such as severe dry eyes, high astigmatism, and thin corneas; and not suffering from any health condition such as diabetes and autoimmune diseases.
