The 2010 Tuna Festival was formally opened last night by GenSan City Mayor Darlene Antonino-Custodio at the Oval Plaza stage in an awesome show of talents, colors, music and dance.
The two hour spectacle which introduced to the public the finalists of the festival’s major events like the 12 street dance contingents of the Mardi Gras Street Dancing Competition, the 20 candidates of the Mr. and Ms. GenSan pageants and the GenSan Pop Idol Talent Search also launched the music video or MTV of the new official theme song, “Whoa GenSan!“. [quote1]
“Whoa GenSan!” is a composition of the Centerpoint Band and the “Whoa GenSan!” MTV is a collaboration of the newest video production house in the city, Royale Iris Studio and the GenSan Tuna Festival 2010 eXperience Organizing Committee, headed by Festival Director Orman Manansala.
The video features the members of the Centerpoint Band performing the” song in various landmarks of General Santos City. Watching it for the first time last night was an exhilirating and uplifting experience for the generals as Director Heintje Fernandez was able to weave together images of the city’s source of pride and identity with the outstanding on-screen performance of the exuberant Centerpoint who gave life to the song’s catchy lyrics.
The 3-year old Centerpoint Band is composed of Deane, Julius, Keith, Avery, Joshua and Densho.

Their MTV of “Whoa GenSan!” is guaranteed not only to introduce GenSan and its Tuna Festival globally but also to showcase the band’s undeniable talent to the rest of the world and hopefully pave the way towards the fame that they deserve.
To everyone who worked collaboratively on this music video, congratulations and thank you for making us proud of our city and proud of ourselves as generals!
Now watch the music video of “Whoa GenSan!” below and see what we mean…
Watch out for our feature on the formal Opening of the GenSan TunaFest eXperience!

Success! More power to all Generals!
lalo akong naging proud of gensan after napanuod ko to! global na global tlga ang dating. kaming generals na andito sa ibang bansa ay pumupugay sa mga pipol behind the production of this video and sa tunafest mismo. mabuhay ang magandang gensan!
galing2x naman….. Gensan Tuna Festival taas noo mga Heneral. Keep it up…..
Good Job centerpoint band galing galing nyo lahat…Happy tuna festival Gensan!
@Mr. Bariles: yes po I think they used a camera crane so give that flying capture effect sa video. Its seem Royale Iris needs more equipment but I’m pretty sure with this work they had madali lang yan mag acquire in the future kasi marami nang papagawa sa kanila. mas maganda if they have this camera track also para pwedeng maachieve ang very smooth revolving capture. way to go Royale iris! keep it up! Centerpoint Band was exceptional as well! They so know how to project with confidence without looking so trying hard. Galing! ^-^
🙂 nice! we hope to see more of this and even better ones. congratulations! ^-^
looking back i thought this wouldn’t happen… our patience and perseverance paid off! ang galeng talaga ng centerpoint band and sobrang hanep ang ginawang mtv ng royale iris!
Whoa Gensan Tuna Festival rocks!
wow… nakaka proud naman…
Ang galing galing naman. I soo love the airport scene. parang hindi shinoot sa Pilipinas. I just wonder if what type of camera has been used all throughout the music video…hmmm Nikon D90 kaya?
@Toinks, they used a camera crane for the airport scene! I also love that part! Kudos to Royale Iris Studio Productions for the splendid work!
Amazing video! See you this weekend, Generals!
@Lyle, yes! See you back home on Friday!! WHOA GENSAN! 🙂
