General Santos City, the Tuna Capital of the Philippines is now in the thick of preparations for its annual Tuna Festival.
The Philippine Fisheries Development Authority has again been tasked to be the lead agency to organize it this year and has just released the official Tuna Festival 2018 Schedule of Activities.
Running from September 1-5 and a few days after that, this year’s festivities promises a variety of events that is meant to celebrate the city’s leading economy driver, the Tuna.
Here then are the events of the 20th Tuna Festival of Gensan. Check out the highlights such as the Tuna Float Parade & Opening (Sept 1); SMB Foam Party @ East Asia Royale Hotel (Sept 1); Sugbahan sa Dalan (Sept 3); Mr. & Ms. Tourism (Sept 3); Grand FishFest sa Fishport (Sept 3-4); TunaFest Streetdancing Competition (Sept 5); 20th National Tuna Congress (Sept 5-7) and Munting Mutya ng Gensan @ Gaisano (Sept 5). There is also SM City Gensan’s South by Mouth Food & Music Festival (Aug 29-Sept 2).
We also got word that the theme for this year is MEGATuna Fun in METROGensan. Looking forward to a carnival look around the downtown streets where the major activities are happening.
