It’s finally happening.
As the whole country is celebrating 7-11’s Birthday today, July 11, we are proud to announce that General Santos City will have not one, not two, but three of the world’s #1 Convenience Store opening one after the other.
According to my sources, the first one to open its doors on 26 July 2016, will be the store located at the East Asia Royale Arcade, taking over the old space of Giacomino‘s.
This is how the construction looks a few days ago. East Asia Royale Hotel of course will no doubt benefit from this development that will enliven its surroundings and those of its neighbor, SunCity Suites at night.
The other two branches of 7-11 could open anytime soon after. UPDATE: They will also open on July 26th!
There is one at the Caltex Station along the National Highway in Lagao and another one at the Caltex Station, at the corner of National Highway and Loveland Subdivision, almost right across Notre Dame of Dadiangas University.
Below is the covered 7-11 outlet undergoing construction along the Lagao National Highway, right at the Caltex station there. Its presence will benefit the local populace from not only barangay Lagao but from nearby Sarangani province likewise, who would like to go for a quick shop.
And lastly, this is the upcoming 7-11 at the Caltex Station near NDDU, along the National Highway, too. Right beside Veranza and Gensan High Street, this is most likely to be the new hive of the city’s younger population.
Reports have reached us that a fourth 7-11 will also open at the building undergoing construction beside the Collado Funeral Parlor, across the BIR Building along Pendatun Street. This plus a 5th one at the Shell Gasoline Station across the SM City along Santiago Boulevard (although this is far fetch since 7-11 inked an exclusive deal with Caltex supposedly for their outlets to open only in their petrol shops).
Whether these additional 7-11 stores are really pushing through or not, what matters is that the world’s #1 Convenience Store has finally made it to the shores of the Tuna Capital of the Philippines!
My first time to enter 7-11 was in Hong Kong decades ago during a Procter & Gamble side trip and I am just too happy that it is here. And 3 stores at that!
Welcome to Gensan, 7-11!
