PLDT Group upskills IT professionals from Mindanao in a technology forum showcasing multi-cloud, cybersecurity, AI, and data center solutions.

More than 100 Mindanaoan IT professionals recently attended the forum, organized by PLDT Group’s ICT subsidiary ePLDT, helping partners integrate technology into their business and advance business goals.

With the support of PLDT Enterprise, the PLDT Group’s B2B arm, ASCEND Cloud Tech Days, held in Davao and Cagayan de Oro (CDO), also provided insights into the importance of providing customized digital solutions including connectivity.  These further drive the success of these businesses and help protect entrepreneurs from cyber-attacks as they grow their online presence.

“Cloud tech now stands as the cornerstone of modern business operations. Recognizing this, ePLDT, through our strategic partnerships with key cloud partners, is dedicated to empowering our customers to remain at the forefront of cloud tech and thrive in an increasingly digital landscape,” said Reggie Regino, VP and Chief Sales Officer at ePLDT.

In CDO, First Community Cooperative’s Data Protection Officer Shin Jabonga said, “In today’s rapid growth of technology, companies are vulnerable to exploitation. Through this event, companies about to shift to digitalization will be properly guided in the process of adopting new technology, including ensuring security compliance.”

Davaoeño entrepreneur Eric Manalastas shared, “As a growing BPO company, we need a reliable partner for our connectivity, and I am thankful we found that in PLDT.” Manalastas owns a small Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) company in the city.

Apart from promoting cloud adoption and cybersecurity strategies, Mindanaoan business owners also had the chance to delve deeper into specific topics and solutions tailored to their needs including Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Google Cloud Platform, Genesys Contact Center as a Solution, and Alibaba Cloud, among others.

“We want to be with you throughout your digital transformation journey. Our mission is to empower businesses to thrive in this ever-evolving landscape and propel them to success,” added Gilberto Calixto, AVP and Head of Mindanao Corporate Relationship Management at PLDT Enterprise.

The PLDT Group’s push to create tech-driven opportunities to benefit local businesses underscores its commitment to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth. This also highlights the Group’s support for the national government’s Go Digital Pilipinas Movement as a founding member of the Digital Infrastructure pillar of the Private Sector Advisory Council.
