Seven of General Santos City’s major road arteries will finally get the attention they deserve with the recent approval and release of fifty million pesos (P50,000) earmarked for their improvement by the President of the Republic through the Department of Interior and Local Government.
The amount coming from the Local Government Support Fund (LGSF) has already been released to the Department of Budget and Management Region XII. It will finance the seven road concreting projects that were included in the letter of GenSan City Mayor Darlene Antonino-Custodio to President Benigno Aquino III dated December 20, 2011, requesting for funding assistance.
Here are the names of the roads and their respective budgets:
- Tiongson Street – Barangay Lagao, Gen. Santos City – P 3,000,000.00
- Along Napal Road – Barangay Conel, Gen. Santos City – P 14,000,000.00
- Aparente Street – Barangay City Heights, Gen. Santos City – P 10,000,000.00

- Cagampang Street – Brgy Dadiangas South, Gen. Santos City – P 5,000,000.00

The biggest amount has been earmarked for the concreting of Napal Road in Barangay Conel at the amount of P14,000.000.00, followed by Aparente and Salvani (Block8) Streets at P10,000,000.00 each.
The South Cotabato Sub-District Engineering Office of the Department of Public Works and Highways will undertake the implementation of the aforementioned projects starting this month of March 2012.
kalaki pala ang respective budget ng conel road.. sana hindi kokorakotin
@veng, GenSan is lucky because #1 anti-corruption ang administration ni Mayor Darlene Antonino-Custodio.
guys, let’s think positive over this projects by our city govt.. its not easy to find an allocated budget especially to those areas really in need of such developments for the access of much more investments to our city..
some of these roads are in downtown proper which is in need of much attention like the one in dad. heights going to prk malakas.. medyo worst tlga daan dun, marming butas.. buti n lng at tapos na kht 1/4 pa lng from malakas public market ppuntang lagao high school.. den nid pa icontinue un pbaba ng heights dun sa knto ng nddu..
i know all of us gusto ng devt sa ating localities, sa ating mga barangay… pero let’s take it one at time coz i know our city mayor has all the views to take it all done… lam ko nmn mrmi n kaung na.oobserve na new devt sa city ntn like addl roads, drainage projects and other more that is why more blessings and investments are coming right now.. un lng po.. Magandang Gensan.. (^_^)
@Bariles, thank you for the clarification…
disappionted….. calumpang is not included in the list esp. after the holy cross church ( really disapointed….. to think brgy. calumpang was one of their number supporter during election.
Napal po ba talaga yan? Di ba yan Nopol? As in Nopol Hills sa Brgy. Conel….
@rhod, NAPAL Road talaga yan. There is really such a road. I asked people from the City Mayor’s Office. 🙂
Naku! Di kasali yung sa Dona Soledad ah. tsk tsk
@tuesdy, private road ang daan papasok sa Dona Soledad. Mga public roads lang ang puede pondohan ng gobyerno natin.
