@George Castro – Once again another audience who think they better than the judges. Dude, Miss GENSAN 2009 is not a popularity contest. Its a pageant. Beauty contest lang??? Are you nuts? Do you think that the city will give a friggin effort for such event if its a beauty contest or pageant “lang”? The winners will represent your city (given if you are from gensan). Believe me, organizing such event is not a one night brainstorming. Why not try to organize an event like that. Let see if you can do it better. I salute the organizers for a well prepared and organized event. Great job.
About Contestant number 5 (current Miss Gensan): I witnessed how she stummered upon answering the question, but at the end she showed grace over pressure. There are 13 judges that night. Don’t tell me they did not noticed that. Still, they gave her the crown because they (or majority of them) believe that she was the best among them (not only that night as mentioned by mr. orman).
congratulations…..The mayor’s appreciation is enough to justify all the good efforts you’ve done for the pageant…
in fairness, bravo six, mangha si mayor jun sa tatlong nanalo… magaganda na matatangkad pa.

well said sir orman… indeed i agree with you.!
@george — i respect your opinion and siempre bawat nanood ng oras na yun may kanya-kanyang favorite. ako mismo meron din. but we have to respect the decision of the judges. isa pa, hindi lang ang Q&A ang tanging basehan para piliin ang mananalo. may mga kandidatang magaling mag-memorize ng sagot para mas kwela sa audience … para sa aming organizers kailangang mas makilala namin ang bawat kandidata para naman maging balanse ang desisyon. isa sa mga importanteng activity nila ay ang closed-door interview na kung saan limang hurado ang kumausap sa mga kandidata. dito mas lubos na hinimay ang personalidad nila. sa isang linggong kasama namin ang mga kandidata, lumalabas ang mga paguugali nila — kaya’t mas kilala namin sila ganunpaman hindi namin ito sinabi sa mga hurado dahil opinyon namin yun. unfair na sabihin mong “only a beauty contest” ang Miss Gensan dahil hindi ka naman kasali sa bumubuo nito — dugo, pawis, hirap at tyaga ang pinagdaanan namin para maiangat ang patimpalak na ito. enough said.

Sir gud A.M.
I watched the Miss Gensan 2009 last Friday and I’m shocked that Contestant #5 was declared Miss Gensan when in fact Contestant # 6 was expected by the audience to win coz of her smart answer in the question and answer portion..BTW what is the real criteria in winning the Miss Gensan 2009 only a Beauty Contest?…HEHEHEHE!!!!!
maraming salamat po at nagustohan ng generals ang design, will continue to do more.
[…] and participation by the citizenry. Therefore, aside from the anchor events like Search for Ms. GenSan 2009, the Cheerdance Competition, the Tuna Float Parade, the Tuna Culinary Expo, the Body Fest Modeling […]
by the way, the organizing committee has trimmed down the official Miss Gensan candidates to just TEN. the same cash prizes will be awarded.
