Fresh from the online edition of Philippine Star Daily, comes this piece of good news…
MANILA, Philippines – Damosa Land Inc. of the Anflo Group recently signed a franchise agreement with Microtel Inns & Suites (Pilipinas) Inc. for a 66-room hotel in General Santos City. Microtel Gensan will be the 10th Microtel property in the country and the first international hotel chain in the city. The hotel project is also Damosa Land/Anflo Group’s second Microtel franchise after Microtel Davao. Shown in photo are (from left) Demet Lucila (Microtel CFO), Jose Mari del Rosario (Microtel Pilipinas CEO), Ricky Floirendo (Damosa Land Inc. COO) and architect Luis Nakpil (Microtel Pilipinas director).
We blogged about this already as early as two years ago in this article about a new GenSan Hotel. Hopefully, everything comes into fruition once the ground-breaking of this 62-room hotel establishment takes place this month of March 2011 or next month.
One thing is sure though, Damosa Land of the Anflo Group won’t just be constructing the hotel but will also be developing the whole commercial area that will be built inside their highway compound, much like their Damosa Gateway Complex in Davao City.
So expect not only the Microtel hotel in that area containing the 24/7 McDonalds Drive-Thru outlet soon but other restaurants, shops and stores as well. That makes the GenSan National Highway, the busiest road section of the city when all these materialize.
Super mega Magandang GenSan na nga talaga ito!!!

Excited mode lahat ng Generals about this Hotel [Complex?]
@danny gane. I understand danny’s concern about our city dev’t. Though its true that in every progress a city understakes, the risks of being polluted, etc. follows. We just hope our local officials will make some meaningfull measures inorder to prevent Gensan becoming a worst nightmare to live by instead of being a liveable city. But having a new hotel in our city is certainly another welcome news to all of us.
Just curious Mr. Bariles, how many square meters ba itong Microtel na ipapatayo, kasali ba ang adjacent vacant lot? Excited na kami makita ang ground breaking and the construction & design of this.
Kuya avel, gaano ba kalaki area tatayuan ng Microtel?
Ganyan talaga yan… URBANIZATION has its positive and negative effects… Let’s just hope and pray that all stakeholders in our city will do their part in ensuring to maximize the positive aspects of development and to mitigate the expected negatives….
Basta ako I do believe that DEVELOPMENT AT THE EXPENSE OF THE ENVIRONMENT IS NO PROGRESS AT ALL…
GenSan shall be uniquely vibrant than other metropolitan areas in the Philippines. With Healthy competition, everyone is a winner. Sustainable city economy is very very essential.
i don’t want gensan to be like manila or cebu. Traffic, air pollution, waste disposal problem, water shortage problem, rising criminalities, etc.
with influx of tourists, prices of certain commodities, accomodations, and services will shoot up beyond what the locals can afford and enjoy.
i know changes are expected to happen, let’s just hope for the best and be vigilant always…
Believe that theres no other way for GenSan to go but UP! Good news indeed!
After long time waiting… This is it! This is really really is it…
Mas maganda na talaga ang GENSAN ngayon… at nagsisimula pa lang tayo…
Thanks kuya!
This only proves that tourists are indeed flocking to Gensan whether to explore the city or use it as jump off point to get to the nearby South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat and Sarangani Provinces. Go Gensan!
Wow…booming city na talaga ang Gensan.
Wow! Sunod-sunod na talaga ang mga Investments in our city! 😀
(Para ba itong SUN CITY SUITES?)
