Sorry folks! I missed blogging about it the first time it came out although I am part of its editorial board.
So now, as the 2nd issue is released, I am proud to give you the official publication of the City Government of General Santos City, aptly named MAGANDANG GENSAN Magazine.
Check out the front covers of the first two issues below.
According to the first issue’s Editorial, Magandang GenSan Mag will “…serve as the city’s bimonthly report card to the more than 500 thousand Generals who deserve to be informed. It will reflect how the city fares in implementing plans and delivery of services…”
In addition, MG is “..a way of enhancing the city government’s communication trasference with the Generals to generate customer feedback.”
Magandang GenSan Mag‘s editorial board are all composed of employees of the City Hall, led by Editor-in-Chief Edgar Cadiente.
Assisting him are his three Associate Editors, composed of yours truly, Bariles, together with Millicent Hope Kaindoy and Anelin Cabfit.
The Column Editors are all from the City Public Information Office: Jose Aponesto III, Luzvimi Entila and Christopher Sulit.
Managing Editor is Ms. Leila Dacua Rivera while the Lay-out Artist is Ms. Marianne Basilio – Anas. Both Paul Bernaldez and Jing Velos are the magazine’s Official Photographers.
In-charged of Circulation and Print are Allan Loi Villanueva, Erlinda Ibarra and Mayshiel Solidum. Importantly are two gentlemen from the City Mayor’s Office acting as Technical Assistants: Leonard Pe and Gerardo Pilapil, Jr.
The rest of the contributors are all from the different departments, who together with those mentioned above, had to undergo a two-day seminar workshop on “Journalistic Appreciation of Public Information” by UP Professor Danilo Arao last year in preparation for their tasks.
