Kalilangan Festival 2011 Schedule

Here finally is the Kalilangan Festival 2011 Schedule. The Kalilangan 2011 is a week-long festival to commemorate the 72nd Founding Anniversary of General Santos City.

For this year’s celebration which is being handled for the first time by the Mindanao State University, in conjunction with the GenSan LGU, the theme is:  The Challenge of Change: Preserving Traditions.

Bariles thinks it’s quite similar to last year’s theme which was: Kalilangan 2010: Honoring the Past, Understanding the Present, Embracing the Future.

In 2009, the city’s 70th Foundation Anniversary, the theme was:  Kalilangan 2009: Culture, Rhythm & Color. “Pagbabalik-gunita sa Pitumpung Taon ng Kaunlaran, Kapayapaan at Kasiyahan.”

The City Mayor’s Office of GenSan is handling the Kalilangan Opening Ceremony on February 21, 2011 at the City Oval Plaza and is enjoining everyone to attend this spectacle under the direction of Mr. Edgar “egai” Cadiente.  Hope to see you there.
