Sarangani Province, Philippines – The Provincial Local Government Unit of Sarangani, under the leadership of Governor Rogelio D. Pacquiao, in collaboration with the Sarangani Bangsamoro Affairs Program, successfully hosted the 14th Grand Iftar of Sarangani on April 8, 2024. The event, held under the theme “Strengthening Community Peace Transformation through Trust, Honesty, and Ethics for Tomorrow’s Generation,” highlighted the importance of Ramadan in fostering unity and peace-building efforts among Muslims and all communities of Sarangani Province, and across the nation.

Keynote speakers at the event included Sheikh Adbulkhaliq Abtahi, Sheikh Mohammad Nhor Sawato, DOST Regional Director Sammy Malawan, MOLE-BARMM Deputy Minister Mr. Tommy Nawa, and Atty. Lanang Ali Jr. Their insightful speeches were complemented by messages of support from Governor Rogelio D. Pacquiao, Vice Governor Dr. Elmer T. De Peralta, the Office of Congressman Steve Chiongbian Solon, Sangguniang Panlalawigan Board Members Hon. Gwynn L. Singcoy and Hon. Joseph M. Calanao, Ronda Probinsya Project Director Paul Allen B. Villamora, and SaBap Madaris Project Manager Ustadj Mohammad Pangolima.

In his statement, Vice Governor Dr. Elmer T. De Peralta emphasized the significance of the celebration, stating, “The Grand Iftar of Sarangani is not just a religious event; it is a symbol of unity and solidarity among our people. It reminds us of our shared values of trust, honesty, and ethics, which are essential for building a peaceful and prosperous community for our future generations.”
