Finally, after months of waiting, Japanese global apparel retailer, UNIQLO, has announced the opening of its first store in South Central Mindanao or SOCCSKSARGEN region, specifically in General Santos City.
We have hinted about this in this blog’s Facebook Page last year in October 2017, that created a lot of buzz, garnering over 220 shares. That just shows how excited the generals are.
A follow-up post in March this year, also yielded the same excitement and was shared 80 times!
And now, it is confirmed. UNIQLO’s newest store will definitely open its doors on May 25, 2018 in SM City General Santos,! It will occupy over 900 sqm of new shopping space and will be bringing in the UNIQLO LifeWear shopping experience to more Pinoys in this part of the country.
UNIQLO in GenSan follows the brand’s launch in Mindanao last year with the establishment of Uniqlo Davao and Cagayan de Oro signalling its stronger dedication to the island making available its signature LifeWear pieces and the ultimate shopping experience to the generals, in particular and the Mindanaoans, in general.
UNIQLO Gensan is its 4th store in Mindanao and the 50th in the country, opening just in time for its 6th anniversary in the Philippines.
In a press statement, Masayoshi Nakamura, COO of UNIQLO Philippines, declared, “We are confident about the success of our first store in SOCCSKSARGEN region with the wonderful support we continue to receive since our establishment here in the Philippines in 2012.
He continued, “We are excited to continue UNIQLO’s long-standing commitment to provide innovative and high-quality LifeWear clothing here with our customers in General Santos City.”

Of all these designs, I am most excited on the Marvel-themed shirts since I just saw The Avengers: Infinity War and was totally floored by it. Looking forward to get my hands on a Spiderman shirt.
