Went on a road trip yesterday to Maasim, Sarangani Province to while away the lazy hot Good Friday afternoon. While traversing the mountain road before going down the fishing village of Tinoto, Maasim, we chanced upon something to the left that caught our eye!
It was the huge almost-finished entrance gate to Manny Pacquiao’s “Pacman Beach Resort Complex”.
From the guard at the gate, we learned that the place was still closed to the public but a national shootfest was held there a few months ago. He was also kind enough to allow us to take a look inside.
True enough, inside Pacman’s Beach Resort Complex was a shooting range and what appears to be remnants and trash from the aforementioned shootfest.
Upon closer inspection, here is one of the shooting ranges with a Pacquiao tarp still hanging on the side.
About 300 meters from the gate is a scenic cliff overlooking Sarangani Bay. Down below is the beachfront resort of the complex that appears to contain open cottages, a basketball court, a tennis courts and some other buildings.
In due time, hopefully the whole Pacman Beach REsort Complex once it is fully operational to the public, will turn out to be one of Sarangani’s must-visit beach resorts. With the Pacquiao name attached to it, I am pretty certain that just like the famed white sand beaches of the province, it will become one of its more famous tourist destinations.
NOTE: Manny Pacquiao’s Pacman Beach Resort Complex in Maasim, Sarangani is right across the mountain range where a hole on its side where a giant clam shell fossil was unearthed, is very much visible.
Pacman Beach Resort Complex is located about four-five kilometers away from the Sarangani Province Welcome Arch at the GenSan-Maasim boundary along the National Highway. It lies right before the Esma Cliff Resort.
