With communication as an essential tool for more efficient public service, PLDT’s wireless unit Smart is providing the Smart Infocast service to the Philippine National Police – Regional Finance Service Office 11 (PNP-RFSO 11).

RFSO 11 chief PCOL Jonathan C. Genetiano welcomed this partnership as it will help boost their office’s communication capabilities, particularly in the delivery of financial services.

“The Infocast platform will help us engage our clients in the dissemination of advisories and other equally important information on finance service-related matters. The feedback capacity of the system will likewise allow the subscribers to interact and send reports to the system administrators, which is important for tracking status,” he said.

Smart Infocast is a web-based text broadcasting solution that enables public and private institutions and organizations to easily distribute important information to identified recipients.

The service also allows registered subscribers to send reports or feedback and have access to relevant and accurate information about their community on disaster preparedness and response, tourism, local government initiatives, health and weather reminders, and new protocol advisories.

“RFSO 11 is keen on maximizing the use of this tool to disseminate information, and to make the communication flow a more client-based delivery of financial services within RFSO 11 paying jurisdiction,” Genetiano added.

RFSO 11 has around 10,000 clients serving both the whole police population of Police Regional Office 11 and Regional Support Units in the disbursement of pays and allowances and their respective operational funds.

Smart’s relentless push to enable and empower public institutions like RFSO 11 with technology and connectivity is aligned with parent company PLDT’s broader commitment to help the Philippines attain the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG #9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure.
