Every time our homegrown hero Manny Pacquiao celebrates his birthday here in General Santos City, his team never fails to come up with invitation cards or invites for guests which are conversation pieces in themselves.
Our description of them all throughout the years ranges from simple elegance, to showbiz crassness and just downright hilariously tacky. Pacquiao’s 34th Birthday party invite though is of another level, one which I could not find the right words to describe it.
Check it out!
The fliptop invitation card card features on the cover an old photo of Manny Pacquiao with his back turned to the camera kneeling on the corner of what seems like a boxing ring. What’s surprises me is that there are two wings made of white cardboard paper pasted on Manny’s back purportedly making him look like an ANGEL!
Here’s what’s inside of the invitation card… details of the celebration including the venue which is the 8000-capacity SM CITY GENSAN CONVENTION CENTER (3rd level of SM City GenSan), that shall be unveiled to the public for the first time; and the party’s date and timing, which is on DECEMBER 17, 2012 at 6:00PM.
The invite comes with two ADMISSION TICKETS and what looks like RAFFLE STUBS at the end. Remember that during his past birthdays he raffled off cars, motorcycle units, appliances and cash ranging from P50k to P1 million. Guests who receive these tickets must make sure not to lose them!
Lastly, along with these comes a plastic-wrapped DVD with suit-clad Manny Pacquiao again on the cover, with the words: EMMANUEL D. PACQUIAO – RESTORING YOUR RELATIONSHIP THROUGH THE WORD OF GOD.
I haven’t had the chance to check what’s on it but I am pretty certain that it’s Manny’s own version of the “Sermon on the Mount”.
With this DVD as a FREEBIE with his birthday invite, I could only expect his 34th natal day celebration to be completely different from his previous ones. For sure, it will turn out to be one huge PRAYER RALLY with Mommy Dionisia’s “nemesis”, her son Manny’s pastor advisers’ stamp all over it.
