For the past 2 weeks already, the city hall building has gone WI-FI!
Yes, you read it right! Through an agreement entered into by the leading wireless services provider Smart Communications, Inc. (SMART) with the local government of Gen. Santos City, the building is now a HOT SPOT with the free installation of WiFi service via SMARTBro inside the City Mayor’s Office.
Also known as hotzoning, WiFi inside the Mayor’s Office makes wireless Internet access possible for employees, city officials and visitors with laptops, PDAs and dual-mode phones. The service extends to the lobby and all open areas from the first to the 3rd level of the City Hall.
That makes the GenSan City Hall as the first in the SOCCSKSARGEN region to go WiFi, a free service courtesy of SmartBro Hotzone. Wow!

I’ve never been to Gensan but it’s good to hear that the local government is promoting cybertechnology through the City Hall hotspot.
