KIDAPAWAN CITY—In celebration of her birthday, Cotabato Vice Governor Ella Taliño Taray kicked off her month-long outreach program, Handog Saya sa Kaarawan ni Ate Ella: Para sa Kabataang Cotabateño, with a special visit to Sitio Tinago, Barangay Ilomavis, Kidapawan City last Saturday, 9 August 2025.

True to her advocacies for environmental protection and youth development, Vice Governor Taray led the planting of giant bamboo seedlings and distributed over 100 school supply kits to the indigenous students of Datu Ambas-Manib IP School. The outreach also coincided with the celebration of the International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples, emphasizing her commitment to protecting indigenous rights and preserving cultural traditions in Cotabato.
“This is my way of giving back to the community that has always shown me love and support,” Vice Governor Taray said in a message. “By investing in our environment and our children’s education, we also invest in our future generation,” she added.

Joining the Vice Governor in the activity were staff from the Office of the Vice Governor and the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, Ilomavis Barangay Chairman Jimmy Mantawil and barangay councilors, as well as Sangguniang Kabataan Federation President Pearly Jean Balgos and her team.
Through this initiative, Vice Governor Taray continues to champion causes close to her heart such as environmental sustainability, youth empowerment, education, and the welfare of Cotabato’s indigenous communities, while turning her birthday celebration into a meaningful act of service.
In the following weeks, the said outreach program is also set to be conducted in selected schools within Aleosan and Tulunan, concluding the month-long celebration of Vice Gov Taray’s birthday.
