GENERAL SANTOS CITY – General Santos City is set to play an even bigger role in national trade and logistics as 2GO Group Inc., the country’s largest logistics and transport solutions provider, announced its expanded shipping routes during a business forum hosted by the General Santos City Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. (GSCCII).

Themed “General Santos: Southern Mindanao’s Emerging Powerhouse in Trade and Logistics,” the forum brought together local industry leaders to discuss supply chain challenges and opportunities for growth.

2GO revealed it has launched a new shipping loop — Manila–General Santos– Davao–Cebu–Manila to complement its existing Manila–Davao–General Santos– Iloilo–Manila routes. This expanded network now includes twice-weekly trips from Manila to General Santos and dedicated weekly sailings from the city to Cebu and Iloilo.

“General Santos is an important growth hub for Southern Mindanao,” said Frederic C. DyBuncio, President and CEO of 2GO Group Inc. “By combining sea operations with forwarding, cold chain, and nationwide connectivity, we enable local businesses to scale up and access opportunities across the country and beyond.”

GSCCII President Miguel Dominguez underscored the importance of logistics in driving the city’s economic competitiveness.
“For our products to reach customers nationwide and globally, logistics is the backbone,” Dominguez stressed.

Currently, 2GO operates in seven Mindanao ports, including General Santos, Davao, Cagayan de Oro, Butuan, Zamboanga, Dipolog, and Ozamiz. Its services cover sea freight, cold chain, warehousing, forwarding, and passenger travel, providing comprehensive support for businesses of all sizes.

The forum emphasized how reliable logistics networks are crucial in positioning General Santos as Southern Mindanao’s leading trade and logistics hub, helping local industries remain competitive in larger markets.
